Week 7 – One Community. One Prayer. One Mission

One Community. One Prayer. One Mission.

Every morning at Saint Mary School, before the lessons begin, before the questions are asked, before the day unfolds, our community pauses. Students and teachers gather in their classrooms. Little hands hold rosary beads. Older students join younger students. Together, we pray a decade of the Rosary.

It may seem like a small moment.

But we know that small moments have the power to shape who we become.

At Saint Mary School, prayer is not simply something we learn about. It is something we live. Through daily prayer, our students are reminded that they are part of something greater than themselves. They are loved by God, supported by their community, and called to use their gifts in service of others.

The Rosary connects us to Mary, our patroness, who guides us to her Son and reminds us of the importance of faith, humility, and trust. And something beautiful happens when an entire school prays together. A kindergartener and an eighth grader may be learning different lessons and experiencing very different moments of growth, but each morning they share the same prayer.

They are part of the same community.
They are part of the same mission.

There was no single moment that created the faith-filled culture of Saint Mary School.

There were hundreds of small moments.

A prayer offered at the beginning of the day.
A teacher who models faith through action.
A student who learns to lead with kindness.
A classroom that pauses to pray.
A community that gathers together under Mary’s care.

These are the moments that shape a Saint Mary student.

Stories like this happen every day at Saint Mary School. They may not always make headlines, but they change lives.

And on October 7, the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, we will come together as one community for a special day of prayer, gratitude, and generosity as we celebrate the mission we share.

Together, we will continue creating the hundreds of small moments that help every child become the person God created them to be.
