Portrait of an Educator

Who do we aspire to be?

The purpose of our Portrait of an Educator is to provide a common language and vision for our faculty and staff.  It serves as our aspiration, our motivation to be the best version of ourselves in order to allow our students to become the best version of themselves.  It is our promise – to ourselves, to each other, to our parents and most importantly to our students.

A Passionate Skilled Educator

Saint Mary School teachers are passionate about the subjects and grade levels they teach.  They seek opportunities for continued professional growth.  They enter each school day prepared and ready to actively connect with and inspire students and to create personalized learning paths.

An Example of Faith

Grade 4 Ms. Chapman

Our educators are called to the vocation of teaching in a Catholic School.  They inspire students to grow in their faith and to nurture a personal relationship with God.  They lead by example and create a culture that reflects the lens of our shared Catholic identity.  Teachers are patient and positive and understand that all students are children of God and possess unique God-given gifts and talents.

Collaborative Colleagues

Saint Mary School teachers are generous with their time and collaborate regularly. They are committed to supporting school initiatives and to sharing ideas and resources freely.  They encourage a sense of community and belonging within the entire school community.  They can be relied upon even with a moment’s notice to step in where needed.

Our teachers willingly participate in school life beyond the classroom.  They are committed to developing meaningful relationships with students and families.  They regularly go the extra mile for their students, often cheering them on at sporting events, dance recitals, spelling bees, and art shows.  In their interaction with families, they display respect, celebrating each family’s successes and walking beside them through life’s challenges.
